Why Study This Topic?
My animal is a lion. I want to find out about it.
For example, can a lion swim in water, does anybody have a lion for a pet,
how fast can a lion run, does a lion travel places, what does a lion eat,
does it have a enemy, and how long can a lion live? I also want to know
how
much does a lion weigh, and where it comes from.
I'm interested, because people say lions are
king of the jungle, and they're cool, because
they roar loudly. The movies even say lions are king of the jungle.
If people get too close to it, a lion might attack them .
What Was Already Known
Before my research I already knew a lion is
huge as I am, it might attack, it's a mammal. I think it has an enemy.
It weighs a lot, it has a lot of hair, its color is brown and it eats a
giraffe if it gets hungry enough. A lion has a tail, hair,
it's brown, its face is triangular, it has some teeth, toes, legs,
eyes, and ears. A lion is in danger if other animals attack
the lion. If that did happen to a lion it would die. Most of
the lions are smart, healthy, and some are so dumb they don't
know what to do. Some lions live long. When the lions attack
an animal they get down below the grass, then they sneak
up to the prey attack and finally have their dinner.
Search for Information
I looked for information in books, but I couldn't find
anything. At school I found a picture of a lion on Yahooligans, on the
web site to get there is WWW. yaahoolings.COM. I also found information
in an encyclopaedia. I also know from the encyclopedia that a lion will
attack a giraffe. I also got enformation from telivision on the show Blue
Ridge channel .
Description of Plant or Animal
In the encyclopedia I found out that a
female lion doesn't have as much hair around their heads. When the male
is young, it doesn't have as much hair. As it gets older,it still has hair.
A lion can weight up to two hundred pounds. The lions body is brown. Its
eyes are black. Its paw is black, and its nose at the bottom is black.
The lions nose is triangeler. Its stomach is kind of an oval shape. Its
eyes are circle. Its ears, and feet are retanglelar and so is his
head. It weighs about 200 pounds and its six foot long
Habitat Requirements
The lion gets food from a animal, sometimes it gets from
a giraffe, and other animals. I think a lion might
eat other food besides animals. Most of the time they always eat
meat or maybe thats all they eat. The lions drink water of course
I don't see how they could live with out it. Lions drink water out of a
lake. Water and food is very important for a lion.
Lions live in the jungle, by the mountains, land, and others places
a lion could live. A lions shelter could be under trees or something they
found, for example a house they've got into when no one was home.
Some lions like to live up or low or caves.
Adaptations
The lions enemies could be a cheetah, I don't no why
they have enemies. It could be because they both like the same food
and if they got there at the same time they might start a fight.
I wonder who would win, but I bet a chettah could out run a
lion and ware a lion out, the lion would probaly loose all its energy.
If the lion was fighting and standing in one spot the lion could probaly
win. The lions predator would be a giraffe and others to get meat so they
can eat.
To attack an animal a lion will get down low so
that no animals could see the lion. Then when its time it finaly attacks
an animal to get its meat.
Reasons for Endangerment
The lions might be endangered if whereever they ia pollution, hunting
by someone, not very healthy, and lots of other environmental hazards.
The reason why the loins would die from the pollution is that it makes
the lion smell it, and other animals and could die from it. I think their
environment is going well. They probaly lost things but I dont think so.
A lion could be in history books, tv channels like Blue Ridge. Also
on a computer like the internet, and also movies for example The Lion King.
Restoration Actions
A lion is healthy if it drinks water, andeating meat from animals like
the giraffe and other animals. The lion does a lot of running or
chasing to get something or to fight its enemies like the cheetah.Does
anyone have a lion for a pet. If not, there might be in the future.
Lions in the future may fight against all kinds of animals like wild
dogs, cheetahs,deer, and other kinds of animals.
What Was Learned
I learned about the lions enemies, its body, and its life. The lions
enemies are wild dogs, hieannas, cheetahs, and others. The lions will eat
giraffe and others. I think I
would shoot a lion to get something to eat. Other animals could
kill the lion, or it could be because it was old. There's only about 75
lions in the whole world.
Conclusions From Research
My reasearch skills are pretty good. At first I went to the wrong
place then I got to the right place, finaly what I need
to. I think I was responsible for getting my typing done,
and making sure evrything is done. I finally got my typing and writing
done and ready to do something else.
